October 2021

Last month we welcomed a few friends from Egypt after a decade back in their home country. They are waiting on more family members to arrive this month, and the most difficult part of the transition is to find affordable housing. Affordable housing is a consistent need in Lancaster County and the market is even more difficult right now because of Covid. Pray for this family as they wait to be reunited and seek to establish themselves here in the States again. Pray for many refugee families from Afghanistan and other countries who will soon arrive to our county and will also be in need of affordable housing.

September 2021

In September we began to gather as Sunday School classes again on Sunday mornings. We are one step closer to ‘normal’ and yet I know there will be no true return to ‘normal.’ That may cause grief – it has indeed been a difficult season – and yet, the upheaval also represents an opportunity for the church to examine its ways and make changes. Better yet, the church can listen closely to what the Spirit is saying and get in line with what God is doing.

July 2021

This month, our church family says farewell to Orgert & Shpresa Vlashaj and their children. Orgert & Shpresa return to their home country, Albania, with a vision to serve families there through faith-based counseling services. Although such services are readily available in the United States, these services are not yet common in Albania. We will dearly miss this family but it is a privilege to be part of their faith-filled vision for their home. For more information on their ministry, please visit Mustard Seed Counseling.

June 2021

In June, Sonya Harnish returned to Albania to serve another two year term with a Torchbearers camp in Erseke, Albania. We love Sonya and miss her each time she leaves us. She serves with Eastern Mennonite Missions.
